Eggy bread panettone

  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 large panettone slices
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tbsp of sugar
  1. Break eggs into a bowl and beat with a fork, then pour them into a shallow dish.  Dip the panettone slices in the beaten egg, turning them to coat evenly.
  2. Heat butter in a large non-stick frying pan and add the bread slices.
  3. Fry the panettone slices over a medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side until each side is golden brown.
  4. Remove the panettone slices from the pan and drain on paper towel.  Cut the slices in half diagonally and dust with sugar.  Serve immediately, with desired fruit.
