Haylie Duff’s Jalapeño Chili Dogs
1 lb. ground beef
1 (15.4-oz.) can refried beans
½ cup canned crushed tomatoes
1 tbsp. onion powder
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. kosher salt
1 tsp. black pepper
8 hot dogs
8 hot dog buns
1 jalapeño, thinly sliced
½ cup finely chopped onion
Shredded cheddar cheese, optional
1. Cook ground beef in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring often, until meat crumbles and is no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Add beans, tomatoes, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, salt and pepper; simmer 10 minutes.
2. Preheat grill to medium-high. Grill hot dogs, covered, until heated through and grill marks appear, about 4 minutes per side. (For crispier hot dogs, follow the directions below.)
3. Place 1 hot dog in each bun; top with chili, sliced jalapeños, chopped onion and shredded cheese, if desired.
