I just got back from Paris and we had loads of fun. It was their holiday, Bastille Day. On Saturday The Louvre was free. The streets were filled with celebrations of France was celebrating their World Cup win on Sunday. My family experienced the best time and the food was great.
As for the food there was one bakery shown in the pictures that had a line around the corner. After shopping, walking back to the hotel we found this place purely by accident. Boulangerie Chevalier, had an amazing selection of sandwiches, quiche, bread and pastries. We had a caramel eclair, lemon tart and spinach and salmon quiche.
La Frègate at 1, Rue du Bac was also great. I had the salade nicoise, lasagna with salmon & spinach and my mother enjoyed penne rigate with prawns. Our appetizer was shrimp ceviche mango was scrumptious as well.
Then there was the famous Ladurée founded in 1862. I had their macaroons and Maxim’s and sad to say Maxim’s were tastier.
Lastly, I Love Paris by Guy Martin at Paris-Charles de Gaulle was good. It actually received 1st prize in the “Airport Chef-Led/Fine Dining of the Year” category. There I had a swordfish dish that was delicious.
We enjoyed ourselves immensely. The weather was perfect, the nights were grande and the local shops were as fun as the fancy ones.
